I never considered myself a gear-head, but perhaps I was. I started with Fuji and used them for over a decade. I used many of their cameras from the original X100, to the X-Pro1, X-T1, X-T2, X-T3 and the X-H1. I found in the end that Fujifilm cameras were holding me back. Having an APSC camera made it a struggle to get the best out of my images. Trying to pull up shadows in high ISO, and low light, was very challenging. Often the image would disintegrate before, me and was of little use. Mercifully, about three years ago, I sold all of my Fuji equipment off and I now shoot with two Nikon Z cameras - the older Z6ii (smaller and great for travel and street photography), and my main body for events is my Z8.
Nikon lenses are amazing and I have eight of their wonderful lenses and most of them the new Z models. The lens I use the most for nearly all of my professional work is the Z24-70, 2.8s ii lens. I occasionally use the Z50mm 1.8s or the Z35 1.8s and the older AF-S, 70-200, f4.
These lenses are incredible and my customers comment on the quality of my images and the sharpness and clarity of the photos. For something lighter when I travel, I use the Z35mm 1.8s lens. The secret to my powerful imagery, when shooting for clients and professional work, is that I use daylight balanced, TTL, HSS fill-flash for all of my outside shoots. The balanced fill-flash is a powerful tool - I have it toned down so it does not overwhelm the ambient light, but it puts a catch-light into the eyes of my subjects, boosts skin tones and makes an almost '3D', appearance to the image, by making the subjects stand out from the background. I achieve this look with the Godox V1 Pro (N for Nikon).
